As Londoners prepare for the Easter bank holiday weekend, Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed a number of planned closures and service changes across the network. From Good Friday (April 18) to Bank Holiday Monday (April 21), several routes on the DLR, London Underground, London Overground, and Elizabeth line will be disrupted due to essential engineering and upgrade works.
Here’s a full breakdown to help you plan your journeys and avoid travel headaches this weekend.
DLR – No Service on Key Routes
No service on the following routes across all four days:
Elizabeth Line – Reduced Service
From April 18 to 21, a reduced service operates between:
- Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4 / Maidenhead
Additionally, on Easter Sunday (April 20): - Acton Main Line, West Ealing and Hanwell stations will be closed
Piccadilly Line – West London Disruption
From April 18 to 21, there will be no service between Acton Town and Uxbridge.
London Overground – Multiple Line Closures
Lioness Line
- Saturday, April 19: No service between Kilburn High Road and Euston
- Sunday, April 20: No service between Euston and Watford Junction
- Monday, April 21: Again, no service between Kilburn High Road and Euston
Mildmay Line
- Saturday, April 19: The 06:19 Clapham Junction to Stratford train will start from Gospel Oak at 06:57
- Sunday, April 20:
- 09:38 Stratford to Clapham Junction and 09:46 Stratford to Richmond trains start at Willesden Junction
- Monday, April 21: From 19:30, no service between Richmond and Willesden Junction
Suffragette Line
- Sunday, April 20 (until 10:00): No service between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside
- From 10:00 onwards, no service between Barking and Barking Riverside – use local EL1, EL2, EL3 bus routes
- Monday, April 21: The 06:33 Barking Riverside to Gospel Oak train will not run
Windrush Line
- No service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction / Battersea Park across all four days
Tram Disruption
- Until Friday, April 18: No service between Sandilands and New Addington
Waterloo & City Line
- Closed throughout Easter weekend, as it only runs Monday to Friday
Bus Route Disruptions
Due to closures and diversions:
- Route 34 towards Barnet affected at Cooks Ferry Roundabout
- Route 444 towards Turnpike Lane impacted from Hall Lane
