A horrifying Easter weekend unfolded across London as four people were stabbed in separate incidents, one of whom — a 45-year-old woman — tragically died. The violent spree, which spanned three boroughs, saw emergency services responding to scenes in Romford, Bethnal Green, and Enfield between April 19 and 21.
These incidents, confirmed by the Metropolitan Police have left communities reeling and renewed calls for action to tackle knife crime in the capital.
Double Stabbing in Romford Leaves Two Injured
On Sunday, April 21, police were called to Coltsfoot Path in Romford just before 12:50pm following reports of a stabbing. A 20-year-old man was found at the scene with stab wounds and was taken to hospital. Shortly after, a 19-year-old man was also found stabbed in Lavender Close, nearby.
Both victims were treated in hospital and are expected to recover, with injuries not deemed life-threatening.
Met Police confirmed that the two attacks are believed to be linked and likely occurred inside a property on Briar Road. A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody.
Bethnal Green Assault: Man Hospitalised
On Friday, April 19, at around 7pm, a 28-year-old man was stabbed in Old Bethnal Green Road. Officers and paramedics responded swiftly, and the man was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing.
Police arrested another 28-year-old man shortly after on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs and being concerned in the supply of controlled substances. The investigation remains ongoing.
Pamela Munro, 45, Killed in Enfield Home
The most tragic of the weekend’s incidents occurred on Saturday, April 19, when 45-year-old Pamela Munro was found with fatal stab wounds at a residence on Ayley Croft, Enfield.
Despite efforts from emergency responders, Pamela was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
On Monday, April 21, a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said:
“We continue to support Pamela’s family who are understandably devastated. Our investigation is ongoing, and we urge anyone with dashcam footage from Ayley Croft between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday to come forward.”
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines added:
“Our thoughts are with Pamela’s family and local residents. Neighbourhood officers will remain in the area to offer support and gather information.”
