Liverpool FC have been crowned Premier League champions, ending Manchester City’s recent dominance and bringing joy to thousands of Reds supporters worldwide.

The triumph marks Liverpool’s 20th top-flight title – equalling Manchester United’s record – and, crucially, allows fans to finally celebrate a league win properly after COVID-19 restrictions muted their 2020 celebrations.

The title was secured emphatically with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield earlier today. With four games still remaining, Liverpool’s dominance has been undeniable under manager Arne Slot, who stepped into the shoes of club legend Jurgen Klopp at the start of the season.

Fans Celebrate Long Into the Night

Celebrations exploded across Liverpool, with streets flooded by jubilant fans singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” late into Sunday night. In the dressing room, players celebrated in style — dancing, waving national flags, and posing for photos as the party kicked off.

Mohamed Salah added a personal touch, posting a selfie he took with fans after scoring Liverpool’s fourth goal, capturing the joyous atmosphere inside Anfield.

Meanwhile, midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, a World Cup winner with Argentina, described winning the Premier League as “really special,” adding:

“To win a World Cup and then a Premier League is really special. It is an achievement that I really enjoyed but it would not be possible without my teammates.”

Arne Slot Pays Tribute to Klopp

In a touching moment of respect, Arne Slot led Liverpool fans in singing the name of Jurgen Klopp, his predecessor, acknowledging the foundation Klopp had left behind.

“He helped me even more by the team he left behind and the culture he left behind in that team,” Slot said.

It was a full-circle moment — a nod to Klopp’s emotional farewell chants at Anfield, where he had publicly endorsed Slot’s appointment.

A Historic Night

Today’s victory not only ended Manchester City’s reign but also highlighted Liverpool’s resurgence. It had not been expected to be Liverpool’s year after a transitional summer — yet under Slot’s management, they soared past rivals to dominate the league.

Prime Minister Mark Carney, among others, sent congratulations, highlighting how Liverpool’s perseverance reflects the spirit of the city.

As the celebrations continue, there is little doubt that Liverpool’s 2025 title win will be remembered as one of the most emotional and hard-fought in the club’s proud history.
