Emergency services have been to St Mary’s Hospital on Winsland Street, in West London , after a serious fire broke out in the Mint Wing, prompting a full evacuation and large-scale response.

At just before midday, emergency calls were made to persons potentially trapped on-site. Crews from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) and other emergency responders quickly mobilised to contain the situation and assist staff in evacuating safely.

Fire Incident at St Mary’s Hospital: What We Know So Far

The fire was reported on one of the upper floors of the Mint Wing, a critical part of the hospital complex. As a precaution, staff and any patients in the affected areas have been  evacuated swiftly.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire, and investigations are underway. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported at this stage.

Local Disruption

Winsland Street and surrounding areas saw a significant emergency services presence, but authorities report that traffic disruption remains manageable. London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police are also at the scene to support operations.

Patients and visitors are advised to check with St Mary’s Hospital for updates regarding appointments or hospital services that may be affected by today’s incident.

The hospital is expected to remain partially operational, with some services temporarily relocated while safety assessments are completed.
