Alleged Rape in Oldbury – UKNIP

A woman in her 20s has reportedly been raped in a racially aggravated attack, prompting a police investigation in the england/west-midlands-county-county/”>West Midlands. The alleged incident occurred on Tame Road in Oldbury on Tuesday morning, between 8am and 8.30am.

Details of the Attack

The victim, a wales/british/”>British-born Sikh woman, claims that before the assault, two men made a racist remark, saying, “You don’t belong in this country, get out.” The police have cordoned off an area of grassland near an overbridge close to the M5 motorway as part of their investigation.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Authorities are seeking information about two white male suspects. One is described as having a shaved head and a heavy build, wearing a dark sweatshirt and gloves at the time of the attack. The second suspect was reportedly in a grey top with a silver zip.

Dabinderjit Singh, lead executive for political engagement at the Sikh Federation (UK), highlighted the brazen nature of the attack, noting it occurred in broad daylight on a busy road. The Sikh Federation is providing support to the victim as the community reacts with anger and concern.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Chief Superintendent Kim Madill of Sandwell Police stated that they are treating the incident as an isolated one, despite the concerns it has raised. They are conducting extensive inquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage. Madill reassured the community that police presence in the area will be increased.

Political Reaction

Labour MP Gurinder Singh Josan condemned the attack as “truly horrific” and expressed his support for the victim. He confirmed that he has been in contact with local police to ensure they are doing everything possible to apprehend the perpetrators.
