Police have released pictures of Aria Thorpe, the lively nine-year-old girl stabbed to death in Somerset earlier this week, sending shockwaves through the community.

Remembering Aria: Full of Life and Love

A close family member described Aria as “a lively and bubbly nine-year-old who was so full of life.” They told BBC News that she “loved teaching dogs new tricks and adored country music. Her favourite song was ‘Jolene’ by Dolly Parton.”

Teen Arrested Over Murder

A teenage boy has been charged with Aria’s murder. He appeared briefly at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and was remanded to youth detention ahead of a hearing at Bristol Crown Court on Friday.

Community in Shock as Police Support Family

Superintendent Jen Appleford of Avon and Somerset Police said the incident had “left the local community in shock.”

“We are working closely with local schools and partner agencies to make sure support is available to children, families and staff affected by this tragic event,” she added.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation online as the investigation continues.
