TV personality Katie Price, 46, has revealed she recently suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage after unexpectedly falling pregnant with boyfriend JJ Slater, 31. Despite the tragic loss, she remains determined to have a sixth child.
Price, who was previously told she was perimenopausal and had only a 1% chance of conceiving naturally, discovered her pregnancy after missing a period on Boxing Day. However, earlier this month, doctors confirmed that she had lost the baby.
‘It’s Been Devastating’
Speaking about the miscarriage, Price told The Sun:
“We went to a clinic for blood tests and a scan, and the scan showed where the baby was, but that it wasn’t alive anymore. It’s been devastating.”
She added:
“Did I cry or not? I don’t really know, but I was just really sad because we went from joy and relief that I could get pregnant naturally to confusion, heartbreak, and sadness.”
Price admitted that JJ was overjoyed at the news of the pregnancy, but she grew concerned when her pregnancy tests weren’t getting darker—an early warning sign.
Determined to Try Again Through IVF
Despite the tragedy, Price insists she will not give up on her dream of having another child. She plans to continue with IVF treatment and says she will keep trying until she is “medically too old” to conceive.
“I still want another baby, and I won’t stop until I’m told I can’t anymore,” she said.
Raising Awareness for Pregnancy Loss
Price has partnered with Tommy’s, a leading UK pregnancy and miscarriage charity, to raise awareness and support grieving parents. A source told The Sun:
“Kate and JJ are heartbroken—it’s been an incredibly tough few weeks, with emotions ranging from utter joy to complete devastation.”
This isn’t the first time Price has spoken about her fertility struggles. She previously revealed that she has suffered multiple miscarriages and a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy in the past.
Her Family and Past Fertility Challenges
Price is already a mother to five children:
- Harvey, 22 (with Dwight Yorke)
- Junior, 19, and Princess, 16 (with Peter Andre)
- Jett, 10, and Bunny, 9 (with Kieran Hayler)
She has openly shared her fears about early menopause. In her Channel 4 documentary “Making Babies”, she was told she had “a couple of awake eggs” left, giving her a less than 1% chance of conceiving naturally.
Despite the odds, she remains hopeful that IVF can help her expand her family.
