A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a suspected stabbing near a tram stop in Greater Manchester.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Abraham Moss Metrolink station, off Crescent Road in Crumpsall, after reports of an incident on Friday, around 9pm.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that the victim, a man in his 20s, was found with injuries “consistent with a stabbing.” He was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Officers cordoned off the area near the tram stop while forensic teams began their investigation. A visible police presence remains in the area, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the attack.

A spokesperson for GMP said:

“We were called to reports of an incident near Abraham Moss Metrolink stop in Crumpsall. A man in his 20s was found with serious injuries believed to be consistent with a stabbing.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, and investigations are ongoing.”

The force has urged anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have information, CCTV, or dashcam footage to come forward.

Public transport users in the area have been advised of some disruption while the investigation continues.
