A 52-year-old woman, Claire Brooks, has been handed a two-and-a-half-year custodial sentence and an eight-year football banning order after pleading guilty to supplying Class A drugs at a football match last year. The incident occurred at Bristol Rovers’ Memorial Stadium in Filton Avenue, Horfield, in April 2023.

Woman Sentenced for Supplying Class A Drugs at Football Match

During a search at the stadium, a quantity of white powder was found on Claire Brooks. Subsequent investigations led to the discovery of evidence linking her to the supply of Class A drugs. She appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on August 24, 2023, where she pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession with intent to supply Class A and C drugs.

On June 11, 2024, Brooks was sentenced to 30 months in prison at Bristol Crown Court. In addition to the custodial sentence, she received an eight-year Football Banning Order. This order reflects the seriousness of her offence and aligns with recent changes in legislation regarding the possession or supply of Class A drugs, such as cocaine.

Dedicated football officer PC Mark Neal emphasised that drugs have no place in society, including at football events. He thanked Bristol Rovers for their support during the investigation and encouraged people to report suspicious behaviour to law enforcement.
