Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a car fire on the M20 coastbound between Junction 2 and Junction 3 earlier today.
The incident was reported at 11:53 AM, prompting the immediate dispatch of two fire engines to the scene. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used high-pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the flames. The fire was brought under control by 12:31 PM.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said, “We responded swiftly to the car fire on the M20 and were able to extinguish the flames quickly. Our priority is always the safety of the public and ensuring that incidents like these are handled efficiently.”
The fire caused temporary traffic disruptions, but the motorway has since been cleared and normal traffic flow has resumed.
