Emergency services in Ireland are responding to a helicopter crash in Killucan, County Westmeath, which has reportedly left several people injured.
Acting Chief Fire Officer with Westmeath Fire and Rescue Service, Pat Hunt, said that there have been several casualties in the incident.
He stated that all available resources are being sent to the scene.
We understand that it’s an incident involving a helicopter crashing into a building in the Joristown Upper townland in Killucan, Co Westmeath,” he said.

He added, “All the principal response agencies are mobilising to the scene: An Garda Siochana, the ambulance service, and ourselves.
Casualties and Response
What we can understand is that there are a number of casualties involved, but again, we cannot confirm the number at this stage,” Hunt noted.

Incident Details
The single-engine, four-seater aircraft is believed to have struck a “farm building” at around 3:30 pm. Local reports have stated that due to the nature of the crash, it has been difficult for emergency services to reach casualties.
