British Transport Police have initiated a thorough investigation into an attempted robbery that occurred at Elmstead Woods Station in Chislehurst, Kent, on Thursday. Two unidentified males were involved in a brazen attempt to steal a Canada Goose jacket from an individual at the station.
The incident, which took place in broad daylight, has raised concerns among local commuters and residents. Eyewitnesses reported that the two suspects aggressively targeted a man wearing a Canada Goose jacket, a popular and high-end brand known for its winter outerwear.
According to witnesses, the victim resisted the attempted theft, leading to a physical altercation between him and the suspects. Passersby intervened to help the victim, and the suspects fled the scene before the authorities arrived.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained minor injuries during the scuffle but did not require hospitalization. He was later questioned by the British Transport Police to gather more information about the incident.
A Spokesman for British Transport Police commented on the investigation, saying, “We take incidents of this nature very seriously, and our priority is to ensure the safety and security of passengers and the public while using the railway network. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information that can assist in identifying the two suspects to come forward.”
CCTV footage from Elmstead Woods Station is being reviewed as part of the investigation, and officers are appealing to the public for any additional footage or photographs that may help identify the suspects.
The British Transport Police have not released any detailed descriptions of the two suspects at this time and are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately. Additionally, they have assured the public that increased patrols and security measures will be in place at the station in the coming days to enhance passenger safety.

We urge anyone who saw it to contact us by texting 61016, quoting ref 394 of 28 Dec. In particular, we’d like to hear from a man who helped the victim and a woman who was present.
