A cyclist has been taken to the hospital following a crash with a car on Baring Road in Lewisham during the early hours of this morning.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene at approximately 1:53am on Sunday, 27 April, after receiving reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended.
The cyclist was treated at the scene for injuries before being taken to hospital, where his condition is currently being assessed. Police have not yet confirmed if his injuries are life-threatening.
The driver of the car involved stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the authorities. No arrests have been made at this stage, and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“We were called at 01:53hrs on Sunday, 27 April following reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist in Baring Road, SE12.
Met officers attended alongside paramedics. The cyclist was treated for injuries and taken to hospital where his condition is being assessed.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene. There were no arrests.
Enquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD649/27April.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash to come forward.
