On Thursday 20 October 2022, three properties were burgled in Court
Crescent, where items including cash and car keys were reported stolen. A
car was also taken and two attempted burglaries were carried out in the
same street.
In Jessamine Terrace, laptops, cash, car keys and a vehicle were reported
stolen from a property.
On Friday 21 October 2022, a burglary was reported in Goldsel Road where
two laptops, a digital tablet, jewellery, a handbag, wallet and cards were
stolen.
On Saturday 17 September 2022, meat was stolen in a shoplifting from a
Co-operative supermarket.
Officers are linking the offences in Swanley to an attempted burglary in
Brow Crescent, Orpington, which took place on Saturday 15 October 2022.
Also, on Saturday 17 September, car keys and a car were reported stolen
from a property in Zelah Road.
On Saturday 29 October 2022, John Shock, 32, of no fixed address was
charged with 6 burglaries, 3 attempted burglaries, 3 thefts of a motor
vehicle and the theft of meat.
Mr Shock was also charged with two counts of driving a car without a
licence or insurance.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on the same day and has been
remanded in custody. He is next due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on
Tuesday 29 November 2022.
