Five individuals have been arrested following the discovery of what authorities believe to be human remains of a young baby.

The arrests were made after officers conducted an investigation into the matter. Those apprehended are reported to be aged between 20 and 70 years old. They are currently being held on suspicion of concealing a death and unlawful burial. However, they have all been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Chief Superintendent Clare Jenkins, representing Greater Manchester Police’s Wigan district, expressed profound sadness at the discovery, acknowledging the profound impact it may have on the local community.
