A fourth person has been charged in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Jason Romeo, who was fatally stabbed in Clapton on 18 February.

Renaldo Roberts, 25, of Hobbs Place Estate, E1, was arrested on Tuesday, 25 February and has now been charged with murder. He is set to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 27 February.

Ongoing Investigation and Previous Charges

Roberts is the latest individual to be charged in the case, following three others:

  • Raynolph Asante, 22, of Pembury Road, Hackney
  • Travis Mitchell, 22, of Bodney Road, Hackney
  • Rhamyah Bailey-Edwards, 21, of Williams Avenue, Walthamstow

The trio were charged with murder and appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 February. They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at the Old Bailey on 3 November.

Additional Arrests

Police have also made further arrests in connection with the murder investigation:

  • A 19-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, 26 February on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
  • Another 19-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, 25 February, also on suspicion of murder. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Incident Details

Jason Romeo was stabbed outside an address in Bodney Road, E5, at 5:59pm on Tuesday, 18 February. Despite efforts to save him, he died at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
