Emergency services rushed to a serious flat fire in Northbrook Road, Ilford this afternoon, with a number fire engines mobilised to tackle the blaze.

The incident was reported at approximately 12:30pm, on Saturday 12th April 2025 prompting a swift response from the London Fire Brigade, alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

One individual was treated at the scene by ambulance crews. Their condition has not been publicly disclosed at this stage.

The property affected is understood to be located at Northbrook Road, where fire crews worked to bring the flames under control. Details about the extent of the damage have not yet been confirmed. Two officers from the Met Police now stand guard at the property.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with fire investigators from the Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) from the London Fire Brigade attending the scene.
Witnesses described seeing a large emergency presence, with multiple fire appliances and support units arriving within minutes.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We called today (12 April) to reports of an incident on Northbrook Road, Ilford. “We sent an ambulance crew and Incident Response Officer to the scene, and no patients required conveyance to hospital.”
