A Lewisham man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife, Tia Simmonds, who was found stabbed to death in their Parbury Road home on January 3, 2024.
Shane Simmonds, 38, was arrested the following day and later pleaded guilty to murder at the Old Bailey on October 14, 2024. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum of 32 years before being eligible for parole.
Marital Troubles and Motive
The court heard that Tia Simmonds, 32, a mother of four and nursery owner, had been planning to leave her husband due to suspicions of infidelity and financial struggles.

“This was a premeditated attack, leaving Tia with no opportunity to defend herself. Simmonds then went to extreme lengths to cover his crime.”
