A man has been arrested following a double stabbing in Romford that left two people hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.
The first incident occurred just before 12:50pm on Coltsfoot Path, where emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing. A 20-year-old man was found at the scene with stab wounds and was taken to hospital. His injuries have since been assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
Shortly afterwards, police were alerted to a second stabbing nearby in Lavender Close. A 19-year-old man was also taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
A man, whose age has not been confirmed, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.
Detectives believe the two incidents are linked and both stabbings took place inside an address on Briar Road, Romford. A police investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
Officers responded swiftly alongside London Ambulance Service crews to two separate but related incidents this afternoon. We believe both stabbings occurred within the same property on Briar Road.”
They added:
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or has information that could assist our investigation.”
