Ako Faraji, 27, has been charged with six counts of attempted murder following an alarming incident in Leicester where he allegedly set five police officers and a firefighter on fire using a flammable liquid. The harrowing event occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to Leicestershire Police, Ako Faraji threw the flammable liquid at the group, which included a sixth police officer who miraculously avoided being set alight. Prompt action from emergency services quickly extinguished the flames, ensuring that no one sustained injuries.
Faraji, a resident of Oxford Street where the incident transpired, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and one count of an offence under Section 24 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.
