A 24-year-old man has been convicted of the murder of his ex-girlfriend in Croydon, following a six-day trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Hussain Haron, of London Road, Mitcham, was found guilty on Wednesday, 29 January, of murdering 29-year-old Felecia Cadore, who tragically died from stab wounds sustained during an altercation in June 2023.

Police were called to a property in Grenaby Avenue, Croydon, on 9 June 2023, after reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers found Felecia with severe stab wounds. She was rushed to hospital in critical condition but, sadly, passed away on 14 June 2023.

The court heard that Haron had climbed through a window at the property in search of Felecia. Following a confrontation, Haron violently attacked her with a knife, inflicting the fatal injuries. He was arrested later that day and found in possession of the weapon he used in the attack.

Despite claiming that he acted in self-defence, the jury found Haron guilty of murder.

Haron is scheduled to be sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, 31 January.

Detective Chief Inspector Craig Magee from Specialist Crime expressed his thoughts on the verdict: “Justice has been served today following the conviction of Hussain Haron for the murder of Felecia Cadore in June 2023. This case serves as a painful reminder of the devastating impact violence against women and girls has on families and communities.

He continued, “This conviction is the result of meticulous work by our officers and the brave testimony of witnesses who helped establish the facts. We hope today’s verdict brings some comfort to Felecia’s family as they begin the difficult process of healing from this tragic loss.

The police will continue to support Felecia’s family as they navigate the aftermath of this horrific crime.
