Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment After Fatal Shooting in Broad Daylight

Tragic Incident

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, Zikel Bobmanuel was shot in the middle of a street in Openshaw. The shooter was none other than his half-brother, Rumaal Ingram. The incident occurred in broad daylight, shocking the local community.

The Fatal Shot

The court heard that Ingram fired a single bullet at the ground using a Glock-type pistol. Tragically, the bullet ricocheted and struck Zikel, causing fatal injuries. The circumstances surrounding the shooting were deeply disturbing.

Investigative Efforts

Detectives from Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team worked tirelessly to piece together the events leading up to Zikel’s death. Their in-depth investigation revealed that earlier on the day of the shooting, Rumaal had been in contact with Zikel and had threatened to shoot him in the leg. Rumaal then procured a firearm and followed through on his threat.

Thoughts and Justice

Detective Inspector Matthew Hamer, who led the investigation, expressed his condolences to Zikel’s family: “No sentence can bring him back or undo this despicable act of violence. I commend the courage of the witnesses who came forward, helping us provide answers and achieve today’s sentence for Zikel and his family.”
