A 33-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed near Woolwich Station on Thursday evening, prompting a significant emergency response and road closures in the area.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:11 PM on 10 April in Parry Place, close to Beresford Street. Officers from the Metropolitan Police and crews from the London Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found the victim suffering from stab wounds. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where his condition was assessed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.
Police Cordons in Place
At the time of the incident, a stretch of Beresford Street and Woolwich New Road was also cordoned off. Police have not confirmed whether this secondary cordon is directly related to the stabbing, and clarification has been requested.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Police were called to a report of a stabbing on Parry Place, Woolwich at around 6.11pm on Thursday, 10 April.
A 33-year-old man was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as non-life-threatening or life-changing.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.”
Public Appeal
No suspects have been detained at this time. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
