Emergency services rushed to the scene of a motorbike accident on the A2 near Dartford Heath, causing significant traffic disruptions. The incident occurred shortly before 5:30 PM today between Bexley and the Darenth Interchange at Junction 2.

The crash led to the temporary closure of the coastbound lanes, as authorities managed the situation. Traffic was held up while emergency crews, including police and ambulance services, attended to the incident. Photos provided by National Highways show extensive traffic congestion as vehicles were stopped to allow emergency operations.

By 6:20 PM, National Highways reported that the earlier collision had been cleared. However, residual delays continued to affect the area, with long queues reported on the M25 and slow-moving traffic on the anticlockwise carriageway near Darenth. One lane remained closed as traffic slowly returned to normal flow.

Further details on the condition of those involved in the crash have not yet been released. Local police and the ambulance service have been approached for comments and are expected to provide more information soon.

In a related note, traffic was also held on the A2 Jubilee Way between the A258 and the junction with the A20 due to another incident involving a motorbike. This has added to the traffic woes for commuters in the area this evening.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes if possible and to stay informed about the traffic situation as updates become available.
