A motorcyclist has died following a serious crash on the North Circular (A406) near Wembley on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said they were called at 3.34pm on 27 August to reports of a collision on the busy route. Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene.

Despite their efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist family liaison officers.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:

“Police were called at 15.34hrs on Wednesday, 27 August to reports of a road traffic collision on the North Circular A406, near Wembley.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service arrived and found a motorcyclist injured.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the motorbike rider sadly died at the scene.
His next-of-kin have been informed and will be supported by specially trained police family liaison officers.
At this early stage in the investigation, it is believed no other vehicle was involved.”

Specialist detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have launched an inquiry to establish the full circumstances. They are appealing for witnesses or motorists with dash cam footage to come forward.
