Thomas Street remains cordoned off by police as investigations into the incident progress.
A large police presence descended on Thomas Street in Woolwich following reports of a fight, culminating in a triple stabbing. Images from the scene depict a significant police cordon in place as emergency services attend to the aftermath of the incident.
In a statement from the Metropolitan Police, the altercation occurred around 6:25 pm on Friday, 31 May. Upon arrival, officers found three males suffering from stab injuries. All three victims have been transported to the hospital, with their conditions yet to be determined.
In response to the incident, additional officers have been deployed to the area, and a total of 12 individuals have been arrested in connection with the altercation. Police enquiries are ongoing as they seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the triple stabbing.
To aid their investigation, the Metropolitan Police have implemented a Section 60 in the SE18 postcode area, effective until 9:37 pm on 1 June. This measure grants police the authority to stop and search individuals within the designated area without needing specific grounds for suspicion.
Witnesses or individuals with footage relevant to the investigation are urged to come forward and assist the police. They can do so by calling 101 and quoting reference number 5815/31 May. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers.
