Nottinghamshire Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man captured in CCTV images related to two knife-point robberies at a Shell Service Station on Carlton Road. The incidents have left staff traumatised, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The first incident occurred on Friday, 15 December, around 07.25, when a suspect with his face covered entered the Shell Service Station armed with a knife. The perpetrator threatened a staff member, demanding cash, e-cigarettes, and tobacco. After loading the stolen items into a black rucksack, the suspect fled the scene, making off with £187 in cash and approximately £4,350 worth of tobacco, vapes, and cigarettes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during this ordeal.

The second incident took place on New Year’s Eve just before 07.30 at the same petrol station. Once again, a suspect with a covered face entered, brandishing a large knife. Staff was threatened, forced to surrender cash, and a significant amount of cigarettes were stolen. In this instance, the suspect made off with £300 in cash and around £6,000 worth of tobacco products. Thankfully, no injuries occurred during this incident as well.

Detective Constable Anabelle Lee, leading the investigation, expressed the impact on staff, stating, “While no one was seriously injured during these two incidents, it has certainly terrified staff and left a very lasting impression on them. One female staff member was traumatized by this incident.”

The investigation is actively pursuing various leads, including forensic opportunities. Authorities are appealing to the public for information, releasing CCTV images of a man connected to the incidents. Detective Constable Lee emphasised the urgency of identifying the individual to further the investigation.

Individuals with information are urged to contact 101, quoting incident number 0118 of 31 December 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be reached anonymously at 0800 555 111.
