Detectives have successfully tracked down and arrested a suspected burglar after multiple house break-ins and the fraudulent use of stolen bank cards in Dartford.
Series of Burglaries
- On Wednesday, 1 January 2025, a resident in Attlee Drive reported an attempted break-in. The suspect managed to open the front door, but was stopped by a security chain, preventing entry.
- On the same day, a victim in Bridges Drive discovered damage to their rear door and jewellery along with bank cards had been stolen.
- The stolen bank cards were later used fraudulently in shops across Dartford town centre.
Investigation and Arrest
Detectives conducted extensive enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage from local businesses.
- On Monday, 6 January, officers arrested a suspect and took him into custody.
- The suspect, Reuben Johnson, aged 31, of Browning Road, Dartford, was later charged with burglary, attempted burglary, and three counts of fraud.
Court Proceedings
- Johnson appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 7 January.
- He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, 4 February.
