A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon following a stabbing incident aboard a train bound for Beckenham Junction on March 27.
Rakeem Thomas, born on December 18, 2004, is set to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Saturday, April 2, at 10 a.m. He has been remanded into custody pending further legal proceedings.
The altercation unfolded onboard a train travelling between Beckenham and Shortlands railway stations, prompting authorities to respond to Beckenham Junction station shortly before 4 p.m. on March 27. British Transport Police, in coordination with the London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police, swiftly intervened, with a man in his 20s subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment.

While initially in critical condition, the victim’s condition has since stabilized, although he remains under medical care. Specialist officers are providing support to his family during this challenging time.
