Adam’s Wife: ‘His Priority Is Always His Family’

Adam’s wife, Abbie Fill, described the heartbreaking moment she learned of the crash.

“His friend, the driver, called me—he managed to walk out of the car relatively injury-free,” she said.

Rushing to the scene, Abbie was not allowed near the crash site, but she later accompanied Adam to the hospital.

Adam suffered several fractures and severe swelling and is currently in a medically induced sedation to manage his pain while doctors determine the best course of treatment.

“They’re still trying to figure out how to operate, in what order, and how safely to do the operations,” Abbie explained.

Doctors remain uncertain about the full extent of brain injuries, as his severe leg injuries prevent further scans at this time.

A ‘Selfless and Fun’ Dad

Adam and Abbie, who have been together for 18 years and married for nine, live in Kemsley, Sittingbourne, with their two young children:

  • Poppy, 6
  • Arlo, 3

Abbie described Adam as a selfless, family-oriented, and fun-loving father who always prioritized his loved ones.

“He never bought himself anything. He’d wear the same trainers until they had holes in them. Every spare bit of money we had, he’d take us away on trips,” she said.

A passionate motorsport enthusiast, Adam works as a mechanic for a British touring car team and has traveled the world racing for various teams.

“If this career were to come to a stop, it would be devastating for all of us,” Abbie added.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Kent Police are investigating the cause of the crash and have appealed for witnesses or dashcam footage.

Community Rallies to Support Family

With Adam being the primary breadwinner, Abbie faces uncertainty over how the family will cope financially.

A fundraiser has been launched to support the family, and as of writing, over £17,000 has been raised towards an £18,000 goal.

Abbie expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support:
“Knowing everything else is covered at the moment will make a massive difference to him. When Adam eventually wakes up, I can tell him, ‘You’re okay, let’s just focus on you’—and that means everything.”
