Two men have been arrested after armed police arrived at a Hemel Hempstead address following reports of a violent altercation this evening (Wednesday, July 31).
The disturbance, which took place near The Heights section of the town, was first reported at around 5:50 PM. Witnesses informed officers that a fight had broken out among a group of males, during which a weapon was reportedly seen. The individuals involved left the scene shortly afterwards.
Upon arriving at the location, several police units, including armed resources, made enquiries at a nearby address. Following these investigations, two men were arrested.
Posting on social media, Herts Police stated: “No one was hurt and it is being treated as an isolated incident involving parties who are known to each other. Enquiries are continuing.”
In footage shared with UKNIP: a man can be observed being arrested at gunpoint by armed officers, instructed to raise his arms and go against the wall before being taken into custody.
An X account has alleged that the weapon seen during the initial altercation was a machete, although this has yet to be confirmed by police.
The swift response by armed police highlights the seriousness with which such reports are treated. Residents in the area expressed their concern over the incident but were reassured by the police’s prompt action.
As investigations continue, Herts Police are urging anyone with further information regarding the incident to come forward.
