Two people have been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a man in Gravesend earlier this week.

Kent Police were called at 10.21pm on Tuesday, 12 August, to reports of a disturbance involving a group of people outside a private property in Augustine Road. By the time officers arrived, those involved had fled.

Shortly afterwards, a man in his 30s was admitted to hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he later died.

Following urgent enquiries, detectives launched a murder investigation and arrested a man and a woman just after midnight on Thursday, 14 August.

On Saturday, 16 August, Shahim Bulica, 25, an Albanian national, and Erika Korska, 31, from Latvia, both of Augustine Road, Gravesend, were charged with murder. They have been remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 18 August.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses who may have seen the incident, as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the Augustine Road area at the time of the disturbance.

A Kent Police spokesperson said:

“We urge anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward. This could prove vital to our investigation.”
