Two men have been taken to hospital following a violent altercation in a park in West London this afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to Yiewsley Recreation Ground in West Drayton shortly after 2pm on Wednesday, April 23, after reports of an assault in the area. Police cordoned off parts of Albert Road and Falling Lane, which remained closed into the evening as investigations continued.
A man in his 30s was found with injuries to his leg and abdomen and was promptly transported to hospital. Authorities have confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
A second man, aged 34, sustained facial injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and grievous bodily harm (GBH). It is believed that the two injured men knew each other, and there is no wider risk to the public, police said.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added:
“We were called at 2.03pm today to reports of an assault in Albert Road, Yiewsley. We sent an ambulance crew, two paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer. One patient was treated at the scene and taken to hospital.”
Local officers will be carrying out increased patrols in the area in the coming days to reassure residents and gather further information.
