Police officers dealing with a suspicious vehicle encountered dramatic scenes when two males fled the scene and later returned with a group of fifteen others in an apparent attempt to intimidate officers into releasing the car.
The incident occurred shortly after officers spotted the vehicle on the road and pursued it into a nearby car park. On spotting the police, two males initially fled on foot.
However, within a short time, the pair returned with a larger group, seemingly intending to pressure the officers into handing the vehicle back.
Their efforts were quickly neutralised when the police dog unit and tactical operations team arrived on scene, shifting the group’s attitude dramatically.
Not quite so brave after all,” an officer commented on social media, alongside images of the tactical response vehicles and police dogs.
It is understood that the situation was brought under control without further incident, and the investigation into the suspicious vehicle is ongoing.
Police Praise Teamwork
A spokesperson for the force praised the officers, dog handlers, and tactical team for their professional handling of a tense situation:
“Thanks to the quick support from our dog units and tactical officers, the situation was defused safely and efficiently.”
No arrests have been officially confirmed at this stage, but enquiries are continuing.
