Three men have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in a series of burglaries and associated vehicle thefts that occurred across Hampshire between March and August 2023. The sentencing, which took place today at Portsmouth Crown Court, saw the perpetrators receive a combined total of more than twelve years behind bars.
The incidents, which spanned various locations within Hampshire and West Sussex, involved a spree of burglaries and vehicle thefts, leaving a trail of victims in their wake. Among the notable incidents were the theft of a Vauxhall Corsa in Gosport, a burglary at Bishops Gate in Fareham, and the theft of multiple vehicles including Peugeot, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes models.
Following an extensive investigation into the crimes, three individuals were charged and subsequently admitted to their involvement in the offences. Rhys Martin Andrews, 23, of Riders Lane in Havant, was sentenced to four years and six months after admitting conspiracy to commit burglary and various driving offences. Denzel Brian Shane Fewings, 24, of Laburnum Road in Waterlooville, received an identical sentence after admitting conspiracy to commit burglary and breach of a suspended sentence. Stanley Steven Lambie, 20, of no fixed address, was sentenced to three years and four months after admitting conspiracy to commit burglary and breach of a suspended sentence.
DC Keeka Crewe-Way from the Eastern Area Crime Team, who led the investigation, emphasized the seriousness with which such crimes are taken by law enforcement. She stated, “These are significant prison sentences that will help to make sure that our communities are safer because Andrews, Fewings, and Lambie can no longer target people living in Hampshire.
