Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses after a woman was assaulted outside the Leonardo Hotel in Milton Keynes late on Friday evening (18 April).
The incident occurred between 10:30pm and 10:45pm near the Browns restaurant on Midsummer Boulevard, a central nightlife hub. According to Thames Valley Police, the victim was attacked after approaching another woman who appeared distressed outside the hotel.
The suspect, described as a white male, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall, with dark hair, fled the scene before officers arrived. The victim sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment.
Victim’s Social Media Plea
The woman, who was treated in hospital, later took to social media in an appeal for witnesses. She wrote:
“I have just been assaulted by a man outside the Leonardo hotel/Browns and in hospital. Anyone that witnessed it pls pls come forward! I took a picture but sadly it didn’t come out.”
In a follow-up post, she reiterated her description of the attacker and explained that the assault happened after she intervened to check on a distressed woman.
Her act of kindness has struck a chord with the Milton Keynes community, with residents sharing her appeal widely across X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Reddit. Many have praised her bravery and urged potential witnesses to speak up.
Police Investigation Underway
Thames Valley Police confirmed they are examining CCTV footage from the Leonardo Hotel and nearby businesses. Officers are also urging anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area between 10:15pm and 11pm to get in touch.
A spokesperson said:
“This assault occurred in a busy area of central Milton Keynes, where many people were likely out for the evening. We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the suspect in the area, or has any relevant footage. Even the smallest detail could be vital.”
