A hotel manager who raped one woman and sexually assaulted three others while working at hotels across London has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. The Metropolitan Police is now appealing for further potential victim-survivors to come forward.

Ahmed Fahmy, 46, of West Heath Drive, Barnet, was convicted of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault following a two-week trial at Harrow Crown Court. He was sentenced on Wednesday (April 23) and has also been placed on the sex offenders’ register and banned from working in the hospitality sector.

The offences, which span from 2008 to 2024, were uncovered during a complex investigation launched by the Met Police in January 2024.

Pattern of Predatory Behaviour

Detective Constable James Gomm, who led the investigation, said:

“Fahmy used manipulation to abuse his position as a hotel worker and get close to his victims. He demonstrated a clear pattern of offending and abuse.

“We believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward. I encourage anyone who may have encountered Fahmy to contact us – you will be listened to and receive specialist support and guidance.”

The investigation began when two women reported rape and sexual assault following a stay at a hotel in Barnet, where Fahmy worked. One victim awoke to find Fahmy licking her feet; another was coerced into staying in Fahmy’s room and was later raped.

Further inquiries linked Fahmy to two additional, historic sexual assaults – one at a hotel in Royal Victoria Dock, E16, and another at a residential address in Alliance Close, Wembley.

Hotels Linked to Offences

Fahmy is known to have worked at five different hotels across London and beyond:

  • West Heath Drive, Barnet
  • Royal Victoria Dock, E16
  • Alliance Close, Wembley
  • South Way, Wembley
  • Bridge, Marlow

The hotels were not part of the same chain, and detectives believe there may be additional venues and victims. Fahmy often used his position to access guest rooms without permission or lure women into his own room under false pretences.

Police Appeal

The Metropolitan Police is urging anyone who may have had contact with Fahmy while he worked at these hotels – or anywhere else – to come forward.

“Whether you were a guest or an employee, if you experienced anything inappropriate, please speak to us,” said DC Gomm.

Due to some incidents involving international guests, police believe that further victim-survivors may be based outside of London or abroad.
