Firefighters are tackling a boat blaze at a marina in Birdham, near Chichester, as they work tirelessly to control the fire.

Three fire engines from West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (WSFRS) are currently at the scene after the alarm was raised earlier this afternoon. The situation remains dynamic as firefighters continue tackling the boat blaze.

Footage shared with Sussex News shows at least one vessel engulfed in flames, with firefighters working quickly to prevent the fire spreading to nearby boats and structures. Firefighters are actively tackling the blaze with various firefighting tools.

Public urged to avoid area

Authorities have asked the public to avoid the marina while emergency crews deal with the incident. Smoke has been seen rising from the site, and access roads are currently busy with emergency service vehicles as firefighters tackle the boat blaze.

A spokesperson for WSFRS said crews are using hose reels and jets to contain the fire.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known. No injuries have been reported at this stage.
