Schofield was found guilty of sexually abusing a boy and is due to be sentenced on 19 May.
The misconduct hearing found that he caused “serious and extensive” harm. Schofield had been suspended from duty during the criminal investigation.
His criminal conviction undermines public trust in the police service and its employees, according to Assistant Chief Constable Will White.
Phillip Schofield has stated that he no longer considers Timothy his brother.
