Three North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) crew members were hurt when their ambulance swerved off the road responding to a 999 call in Crewe, Cheshire.

Serious Injuries Reported After Friday Night Smash

The crash happened at around 8:30pm on Friday, 28 November, on Eardswick Lane. Onboard were two paramedics and an emergency medical technician. NWAS confirmed two suffered serious injuries, with all three rushed to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

NWAS Appeals for Witnesses as Investigation Underway

“Our immediate priority is the wellbeing of our colleagues, and we are in close contact with their families,”

an NWAS spokesperson said. They added that emergency services, including the Air Ambulance, Police, and Fire Service, responded swiftly. Thankfully, there was no patient on board during the crash.

Detective Sergeant Iain Condliffe from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage to help our investigation.”
