A brave woman has shared her harrowing ordeal after being sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Dewsbury town centre. The victim took to social media after waiting three months with no update from police, fearing the ordeal might never reach the public.

Attack at Dewsbury Bus Station

On August 25, 2024, the woman was walking from Aldi to the bus station following a recruitment fair. Near the old WHSmith and Vodafone shops, a distressed man named Luke approached her. Holding an unopened beer, he claimed he had just been in a pub fight sparked by racist remarks from his girlfriend’s parents.

Showing him kindness, she listened as he insisted on walking her to the bus station. For half an hour, Luke talked about his troubles as they walked. But once they reached the bus station, things took a sinister turn.

Horrific Assault in Public View

Outside the 202-203 bus stand, Luke suddenly admitted he was “horny” and began groping her despite her protests. She tried to push him away, but he slammed her against a wall as passersby ignored the attack. He dragged her towards the alley between Asda and Farm Foods.

Thankfully, a bystander named Josh noticed the distress. When Josh intervened, Luke claimed they were a couple having a “domestic” and chased Josh as he called the police. Luke returned, forcing the victim to endure further abuse including being bitten on the ear and hit against a police station pole.

Eventually, Luke fled over a fence as police arrived, allowing her to get to safety. Josh lent her a portable charger so she could power up her phone and call for help.

Luke Webster Sentenced at Leeds Crown Court

Luke Webster was handed a sentence at Leeds Crown Court in September. The victim warns other women: “If you ever come across this man, don’t go near him – I am not his first victim.”

This shocking case serves as a chilling reminder to stay alert and look out for one another in public spaces.
