Following an explosion in Craigavon’s Enniskeen area in 2020, a 26-year-old man was sentenced today at Craigavon Crown Court.
Ryan Treanor was sentenced to nine years in total after pleading guilty to causing an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious injury, possessing explosives with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury, and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
“Today’s sentencing is the result of a complex investigation by officers from the Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Department into an explosion in Craigavon on December 1st, 2020,” Detective Sergeant Best said. It should send a clear message to those who engage in violence: “We will vigorously pursue those responsible in order to bring them before the courts to face the consequences of their actions.” We will continue to combat those who intend to use violence to further their agendas. We remain dedicated to making Northern Ireland a safer place for all.
