Former EastEnders icon Anita Dobson is set to star in Channel 4’s upcoming six-part miniseries Generation Z, premiering on Sunday, October 27 at 9 pm.

The new series revolves around a group of young people navigating a zombie apocalypse triggered by an overturned army truck leaking a toxic substance. The dangerous gas infects a nearby care home, transforming elderly residents into flesh-eating zombies.

Filmed in Wales during the autumn of 2023, the show features Anita Dobson as Nan Janine. The miniseries also stars Sue Johnston as the lead character, Cecily, and Paul Bentall as her co-star, Frank.

Rebecca Holdsworth, Channel 4’s commissioning editor, shared her excitement about the series: “Generation Z promises to have all of the unique visual flair and mischievous spirit that characterises Ben’s film work. It is in turn wickedly funny, deftly political, and delivers on the kind of eye-popping shocks and thrills that mean this is shaping up to be a zombie drama like no other.”

Fans can expect a thrilling, comedic twist on the zombie genre with a distinctive style that sets Generation Z apart.
