Clive Owen, star of Our Yorkshire Farm, has recently undergone major hip surgery, according to his ex-wife and co-star Amanda Owen. The 69-year-old is currently recuperating, with Amanda and their nine children providing support as he recovers from the procedure.
The family reunited for the new series Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, which chronicles their efforts to restore the neighbouring farmhouse, Anty John’s, as a permanent home for the family. The project, which began airing on October 14 on More4, has faced numerous obstacles, including challenging weather that has halted essential construction work.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, Amanda, known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, shared that Clive’s recovery has been difficult, especially while managing the busy lives of their children. “I’ve got children going to school, children studying, and children working, and then he comes to me and says he’s bored,” she joked, describing Clive as a “terrible patient” who struggles with the enforced downtime.
Reflecting on the scale of the renovations, Amanda admitted, “It was never going to be simple. Ask me anything about sheep or hill farming, no problem. But home renovations? Not a clue.” Despite the setbacks, she expressed determination to complete the home, emphasizing that the project is “all about the future” for their family.
Our Farm Next Door offers fans an inside look at the family’s journey post-divorce as they work together to create a lasting legacy for their children, despite the challenges that come with both major renovations and Clive’s recovery.
