A stunning new mural inspired by the diverse local community has been officially unveiled at Dugdale Arts Centre (DAC) in Enfield.
Created by London-based artist Alec Saunders, the artwork was uniquely crafted using unwanted paint donated by residents at North %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% Waste Authority's recycling centres, showcasing both creative sustainability and community spirit.
The mural, which now adorns a tiered seating area inside the DAC, celebrates the rich cultural heritage and diversity of %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%%, capturing the unique identities, histories, and vibrant communities that shape the borough.
The newly transformed space is used regularly for a variety of activities, including children's events, arts and craft workshops, film screenings, and %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% performances, and the mural now brings a bold and colourful backdrop to every gathering.
Speaking about his inspiration, Saunders said the piece is a tribute to the people of Enfield, designed to spark connection, dialogue, and %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% in the local area. His use of repurposed paint adds an eco-friendly dimension to the project, highlighting the creative potential of recycled materials.
Visitors are warmly invited to view the mural in person at Dugdale Arts Centre, 39 %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% Road, Enfield (EN2 6DS).
