Eltham Road is currently blocked in both directions following a collision involving a marked police car. The incident occurred between the Yorkshire Grey roundabout and Sidcup Road around 6.30pm on the 17th of October 2024.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) firefighters were called to the scene to assist with the extrication of an individual reported to be trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service, attended the scene. Firefighters worked swiftly to free the individual, whose condition is not yet known.
The road closure is expected to remain in place for some time as emergency teams continue their work and investigations into the incident unfold. Bus routes 122, 321, and B16 are currently operating on a revised route due to the roadblock.
We have reached out to the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service for further statements and updates regarding the situation. Residents and motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while the emergency response continues.
A spokesperson for the Met has confirmed the presence of London’s Air Ambulance, a charity that helps treat London’s most seriously ill patients.
At present, details of any injuries are yet to be confirmed by the emergency services.
