Sussex Police are seeking witnesses following a deliberate fire that caused significant damage to Hailsham Town Football Club’s recreation ground in Western Road.

On Tuesday evening (12 November), conifers near the stand were set alight around 7 pm, resulting in extensive damage estimated at £35,000. The fire, believed to be an act of arson, caused considerable destruction but, fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Police Call for Information and Evidence

PC Luke Ceschin, leading the investigation, emphasized the importance of community cooperation. “We believe several people were in the area at the time the fire started, and, fortunately, no one was injured,” he said.
