Northumbria Police Detectives have launched a thorough investigation following a distressing incident in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne where a woman was attacked while walking home in the early hours of Sunday morning. The assault occurred shortly after 3.20am, near Osborne Road, as a 20-year-old woman was making her way along St George’s Terrace.
According to reports, a man wearing a balaclava suddenly accosted the woman, attempting to drag her to the ground. A courageous struggle ensued, allowing the victim to break free and find safety. The assailant fled the scene, leaving the shaken victim behind.
Understandably, the victim has been left deeply shaken by this alarming incident. Police officers are providing her with the necessary support during this challenging time.
A comprehensive investigation has been initiated into the assault, with authorities urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
