The M3 in Hampshire is currently closed eastbound between Junction 6 (near Basingstoke) and Junction 5 (near Hook) following a serious collision. The incident involved a car that left the carriageway and struck a tree.

Diversion Route
Road users are being directed to follow the Solid Diamond diversion symbol on road signs. The advised route is as follows:
- Exit the M3 eastbound at Junction 6.
- At the roundabout, take the first exit towards Basingstoke/Newbury.
- At the Black Dam Roundabout, take the second exit onto the A30 eastbound towards Old Basing.
- Continue along the A30 for approximately 4 miles, passing through Old Basing, until the junction with the A287 Hook Common.
- Turn right onto the A287 and follow it to the M3 Junction 5 roundabout, taking the second exit to re-join the M3 eastbound towards London.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, re-route, or delay their journey if possible.
