Teenager Arrested After Three Police Officers Injured in Erith Disturbance
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after three Metropolitan Police officers were injured during a major disturbance in Colyers Lane, Erith, on Saturday night, 21 June 2025.
Officers Assaulted During Street Disorder
Police were called at 9.06pm to reports of a large group causing disruption near Brook Street in the residential area of Colyers Lane. A number of police vehicles responded to the scene, where officers encountered a hostile crowd.
In response, officers implemented a Section 35 dispersal order, instructing the group to leave the area. The crowd dispersed shortly after the order was issued.
However, during the confrontation, three police officers were assaulted, sustaining minor injuries. A 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and violent disorder. He was taken into custody and remains under police investigation.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said:
“Officers responded swiftly to reports of a large group causing disruption in Colyers Lane. During the operation to disperse the group, three officers were assaulted. Fortunately, their injuries are not life-threatening. A 16-year-old male has been arrested, and our enquiries are ongoing.”
Police have not confirmed whether the disturbance was connected to any planned event or gathering, though residents on social media reported a large crowd and visible police presence throughout the evening.

Local residents reported significant disruption on Colyers Lane, with helicopter support also spotted in the area.
